so wives are okay to beat, but not the domestic help?
One of my favorite things about India: citizen justice.
Often, in news reports about someone committing a crime (snatching purses, abusing domestic help), one of two things end up happening:
1) An angry mob (you might call it a posse) gets together and beats the living shit out of the guy.
2) He ends up doing sit-ups, either as a form of penance or because a posse forced him to.
