IV. What if someone takes a dump on the hood of your car (fine: Rs 100) and you, reasonably, wash it off (fine: Rs 1000)?

I think that it might be one of SF's most favoritest fines--leaving your car on the street during street sweeping. :)
Aha! I bet you are right. That explanation would never have occurred to us, seeing as the streets here are perpetually filthy (you may have guessed this from the fact that they have to impose fines for defecating in public). In fact, Alex just looked over at me, confused, and said "Wait...they sweep the streets here?!?"
