fancy superhero cape

I made another shawl this week, Laminaria from Knitty. Here is an example of the magic of lace. When you first take it off the needles, it is a lumpy, blechy looking thing:


The ruler is 15" long.

Now I have soaked and blocked out the shawl, and its spine is now 36" from top to tail. Here are some detail shots (the lace looks busier than it really is, because it's blocked out on top of a grid, but you get the idea):
